Dwayne McDuffie, who has written many comics for Marvel and DC, and founded his own publishing company, before moving into television and animation, has died.
DC Comics says the Detroit, Michigan-native died Tuesday. His age and place of death were not immediately known.
McDuffie writes comics for the New York DC and Marvel, including working on “Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight, Fantastic Four and Justice League of America.
